I would not name a boy anything that starts with the sound "gay" (even Gabriel, which I think is a lovely name). Too ripe for teasing. Sad, but true, I think.

I think Gabriel is just fine and won't be prone to teasing, considering it was #30 on the boy's charts last year.

Reminds me of Clark Gable who is one of my favorite actors of all time. I like it as a name but I'm not sure I'd use it.

It's triangular pieces on a roof, usually outcroppings. House of the Seven Gables, Anne of Green Gables... All parts of colonial architecture in the 1700's... I didn't have to look it up. :P I don't think it's any worse than some other stuff that anyone comes up with.. Paige which essentially comes from a servant as do lots of other names... All the color names, place names, unfavored wifes and murders, architecture was bound to come in. As far as that goes I like it. and I thin most people would agree (I say most because well...) that it's better than Flying Butress, or Balcony. So yes, I still like it :)

It's different but sounds/looks like Cable. It also just reminded me of the name Able (Cane and Able) in the Bible. Not sure on the sp's.?

nope don't care for it prefer Gabe as a nn or Gale. Gable is too similar to Fable and also reminds me of gobble for whatever reason. I guess it's getting close to thanksgiving.
