[Facts] Ilomé, what does it mean
hi, my parents have gave my sister this weiredest name in the world: Ilomé (pronounced in English as Ee-lo-may). I (and my parents) have got no idea where it comes from (we think French) or what it means.
I have searched around the web and the only one I found is Ilome, Middle-African for first born child in a new house. I don't think Ilomé comes from that name, can anybody help me plzzz.I'd like to know what I sai when I call my sis.

If I live to be a hundred years old, I will still be ever amazed to hear of parents who give a name to a child with absolutely no idea as to where in the world they got that name from. Did they dream it up? Was it something that leapt from their subconsciousness in a moment of desperation when the doctor in the hopital suddenly thrust the new baby's birth certificate under their noses and said: "Choose a name -- ANY name! NOW!"?Mika'el, are you *sure* your parents have no idea where that name came from? I mean, you've questioned them about it, right? What exactly did they tell you? I mean, even if they told you that they remember seeing the name in a book somewhere, or they heard it on a teevee show, that would be some help.Go ask your parents again, okay? :)-- Nanaea

I asked my parents more then once. But they really don't know where it came from, I mean what it means. Of course they didn't think it up theirselves, but somebody they both knowed really well, was also called Ilomé (pronounced as Ee-low-may). But she's gone...
I asked the family of hers, but they didn't knew either what it meant, it was a Fench name they said. Somebody THEY know lived in Fench and was called Ilomé, I can't go back any further, because I'm from the Netherlands. Plzzz, there must be SOMETHING out here on the web. Nanaea, your name isn't that normal too, is it? At least I'd never heard of it either. And me parents didn't just call out a word when my mom was in the hospital. Come on, be a bit more positive. I know you try to answer all questions on this message board, but...I don't think me parents saw this name Ilomé in a tv show or in a book, it's never used somewhere I guess. Most people say it's a nice name, because the never heard of it. Nanaea, your my last hope!!! :D No, you're not, but it would help, if you could help me out, otherwise I'll keep trying and eventually hope to find the meaning.Mikha'el (most people just call me Mike)

I like you Mikha'el, and I'll give it my best shot. It may take some time (and a bit of psy-chick energy), though. :)In the meantime, there are some other folks here who may find out what "Ilome" means before I do. You've got a lot of "last hopes" on this particular message board!-- Nanaea

I'll go to some other sites for info about the name. Thanks for your time, Nanaea. By the way, I like you too :DI'll come back here when another relative gives such a weird name :DMike
