Constantine:
Sweet, charming and handsome or too formal, stuffy and unattractive?
Conrad:
same question as above.
Also what do you think about the potential nicknames Connie and Con? Particularly can Connie be used on a man/boy in these modern times?
Also please tell me which name and which nickname you prefer...

Constantine: Sweet, charming and handsome definitly :D It is a very poetic name
Conrad: formal, stuffy and unattractive
I love Connie as a nn but I like feminine sounding names on boys

Conrad is nice, although it reminds me of the "Footballers' Wives" character. I prefer it as a middle name I think. I don't think it needs a nickname: "Con" makes me think of the not-so-great verb, and Connie is a very diminutive girls' name to me. Conny looks slightly more plausible for a boy, but still :-/
I don't like male names with -ine endings (such as Constantine and Augustine). However, Constantina is nice (albeit not very usable) for a girl.

I actually like both names, but again I like old fashioned names. I think COnstantine would make a grand middle name for a short first name such as Alan Constantine.

Constantine - I had a friend in High School named this *his family was from Greece. We called him Costa and so did his family. I much prefer Costa to Connie or Con.
Conrad - I have always really liked this name but didn't think i could get away with using it since I am not German and it sounds very German to me. I don't think it needs a nickname Conrad by itself is just fine.

Constantine: quaint, but still charming.
Conrad: positively dashing!
Connie would be a name that the guy would have to choose to adopt because he was comfortable with it. Sure it could be used, by lots of guys but not all. Con is a good alternative for those who aren't Connies.

Constantine is elegant, but maybe a bit too much (-> 'decadent', frilly).
Conrad seems very aggressive to me.
Con means "moron" in French. Connie reminds me of The Godfather, so it's too feminine on a boy imo...

I don't care for either name (even more so for siblings, because it would look theme-y).
Constantine is very feminine for a boy, to me. And, if associations bother you (they don't me), I think of Keanu Reeves in the new movie Constantine. Conrad doesn't sound mature to me - wouldn't suit an adult, I think. Again, if associations both you, I think of the musical/movie Bye Bye Birdie - the character Conrad Birdie.
I don't think nicknames should be planned, but instead should be left up to the child. Anyway, I see Connie as a feminine nickname, and Con as a short form of convict (like the movie Con Air, for example). But, if the child wants them as the nicknames, then so be it.
