[Opinions] Cassidy
What are your opinions on the name Cassidy? and what about Sidy/Siddy as an alternative nickname instead of the traditional Cass or Cassie?

I LOVE the name Cassidy and the nn Sidy, though I would spell it Sidi.

lol please not Sidy/Siddy! If the child ever visits an Arabic speaking country or even Spain it will be ridiculous. "sidi" is how Arabic people call the Europeans, especially when they are being obsequious (asking money, persuading you to use their taxi and not the neighbour's)... It's stonger than "mister", it's more like "my lord".
Rodrigo, el Cid, gained the nickname of "Lord" because he was feared and respected. See Sayyid.

I actually prefer it on a boy than a girl, although I like it either way. Either way, it has a carefree 60s beatnik feel to me, maybe because of On the Road's Dean Cassiday and Mama Cass. I prefer Sid as a nn to Sidy/Siddy.

I don't like the name Cassidy-it just sounds too much like a surname to me. But I love the names Cassie and Cass!

I like Cassidy on a boy - it's a bit tired on a girl ... though it's growing on me as a female name now. I don't really like Cass or Cassie, as they're a bit plain. I think Siddy is OK, or maybe even Caddy._____________________________________________________________________"You are never given a wish without also being given the power to make it true."Elinor

I dislike this on a girl but for a boy it's cute. Don't like nn Sidy/Siddy at all.

Cassidy is a nice name but only for a boy i find it tacky for a girl.Im not sure about other nicknames, it would be stretching it a bit far

My best friend's name is Cassidy Marie, so I sort-of like it. I prefer Cassandra or Callista.
