[Facts] Loyal
has anyone ever heard of this first name for a man? I have been told it is Bibical,. I haven't found it yet. Father of Loyal was a Free Methodist minister. Unsure of ethnic background. Father entered USA through Canada. Possible Welsh, English and French.

Dear SharonPerhaps the man named Loyal used to be named Leal. My last name Leal which is of Scottish origin means loyal. This last name is common among Spanish, Portugese, and French... perhaps French Canandian.

In one of my baby book Loyal is listed as thisLOYAL - From the latin ,legalis.'legal, true, faithful'via the old french'Loyal'.varient Loy
Not sure how accurate the book is thoughNo mention of the bible but i guess it could have been a Virtue name once used by the Puritans like Grace Faith Charity

?Unless I read the post incorrectly, I think 'Sharon' was asking about usage of the name 'Loyal'.
