I adore the name Isolde. I'm not as big on the name tristan because of the French word "triste" (=sad) and I wouldn't like to see siblings named Tristan and Isolde. But Isolde on its own as a name -- terrific.

not using them together, but what do you think of the use of them in general?

Well, I certainly wouldn't use them together, but I think they're both pretty useable. Tristan, of course, really is--the popularity charts prove that much. Isolde is very pretty, but it'd get mispronunced a lot; I think it would work best as a middle name.Array

I love Tristan but Isolde seems very dated to me. I wouldn´t use them together (reminds me to Romeo & Julia etc).

Isolde is a gorgeous name. But use with Tristan should be cut to the minimum. Maybe as cat names?

I think Tristan and Isolde are both beautiful names. Using them together would be a bit much, though... and sort of morbid. Like using Romeo and Juliet for siblings.. it's probably just something one shouldn't do.Shannon
