[Facts] Sephie???
Does anybody know anything about the name Sephie? It was my great-aunt's name and I love it, but I have no idea where it came from. It could possibly be a nickname, but I don't know what it could be short for either. Unfortunately, I am also unsure of it's background. If anyone could help me, though, it'd be greatly appreciated.

I see Sephora, a Greek form of Zipporah.

it could be anything with Seph or Sef somewhere in the name. Sephora or Josephine seem the most likely.

Sephie, short for Josepha. Comes from joseph and is hebrew

My name is Sephie and I often get asked if it's short for anything but it's not. It also gets confused for Sophie, Stephanie, Sophia. I now will respond to anything that starts with S.

Maybe a variant of Stephie? I don't know, but I can tell you that there is a young female character in the comic book Meridian (from CrossGen Comics) who's named Sephie.:)Nora

Possibly a nickname for, or shortened form of, Josephine. A male equivalent, occasionally used as a nickname for Joseph, is Seph.

Perhaps a short for Seraphine?
