[Opinions] Amy
Does anyone else like the name Amy? I know that some people think that it's too common/boring, but I've been liking it lately.

Amy is a name that I like:
  • It's pretty and it's feminine.

  • It's short and memorable.

  • I have several good associations with it.

  • But...
  • It is plain, but that can be a good thing.

  • It's very common where I live... 16 girls in my school bear it, out of approximately 450/2... 225 girls.

  • I do like it.

It's actually always been a fave of mine and here in Australia it's not very common on babies/little girls anymore.

I like it although i'm more more a fan of the french spelling Aimee or even the more modern spelling of Amee. If i was to use it for a daughter (although i can't because it's my cousins name) i'm definitly use the spelling Aimee, but in general, yes i really like your name

I agree...I prefer the spelling Aimee, even though people tell me that it is technically pronounced differently than Amy. Frankly, I don't care, I love it, and I will use it. :)Currently my fav combo is Aimee Renee (yes, I know it's got a lot of rhyme, again, I don't care!)

I don't think its common anymore, besides its short and simle. I found a very old list of mine recently and remembered that I used to like it as a nn for Amelia.

Well, it's my name and I've always loved it. :) I liked as a kid that it only had three letters. I like that it's sweet and feminine and cute too. I think it's a wonderful name!

I used to like it a lot as a nn for Amelia until I met an Amy I really didn't like. I think it would be a great name if it wasn't so very overdone. PS. I only like this spelling and detest all other spellings of it

It's pretty, but I'd probably wait a few more decades before using it so it sounds fresh again.

I think it's really sweet. Maybe a little bit dated and common, but I like it well enough. I prefer the spelling Amie, though. I have a friend who spells her name that way.

I love the name Amy. It's been around for a long time, and it's such a nice, sweet name. Amy was extremely popular in the 1970s, so some people think it's somewhat dated.I know a little girl named Amy Jane. :-)
