What do you think of
Marian (for a female)? I do like it, but I am not sure it is list-worthy (yet). I have also never met anyone named
Marian, but it does have a sort of whimsical allure from its appearance in the
Robin Hood tales. Also, do you prefer
Marian or
Marion? I think
Marian is more feminine.
I also have a cousin (female) named
Marjan (pronounced mahr-ZHAAN). Sometimes it's spelled Marjane, like author Marjane Satrapi (I don't know if any of you managed to catch Persépolis--but I recommend it highly).
