I say it you-JEEN-yah but my favorite pronunciation is the Spanish one, which is roughly ay-oo-HEN-ya.I dig it. I might like Eugenie better. I like nn Genie. With a hard G it infuriates me. According to the rules of English, it must be spelled Euguenia in order to achieve that prn.

I love Eugenia. I pronounce is yoo-GEEN-yuh (with a soft G); I don't think I like it near as much pronounced with a hard G.

I like it you-jee-nee-ah. I think its pretty and would be refreshing among Hannahs, Sophias, and Elizabeths.

Love it.I love Eugenia and Eugenie both.I pronounce Eugenia with a soft "g," "yoo-JEE-nia." (I pronounce Eugenie "yoo-ZHAY-nee" and "yoo-ZHEH-nee.")The only way I like a hard "g" sound in it is in the Russian variant Yevgeniya.

I love Eugenia and it was my grandma's and my great grandma's middle name. It was supposed to have been my aunt's middle name too, but my grandma disliked it. It had an interesting story. A friend of my great-great grandparents died in a car accident a couple of weeks before their wedding and his name was Eugene. They used Eugenia after him. I pronounce it as yoo-JEE-ee-ah in English, but that is probably the pronunciation I like the least. My favorite pronunciation is the Greek, ef-YEN-ee-ah, but I quite like the Spanish and Italian pronunciations as well.

I prefer EugenieThe name of the daughter of the Duke and Duchess of York who got some attention recently for streaking at school. I thought it was pronounced YOO-jean-ie, which I was never crazy about, but it has been growing on me lately, only because it is one of those names that is attractive in its ugliness - if that makes sense. And in a sea of Isabella's it really seems refreshing. But I just looked up Eugenie here at discovered it is a French name which is actually pronounced uu-zhay-NEE, which I absolutely love. I am crazy about uu-zhay-NEE, which fits my search for a spunky, stand-out name. Still for practical reasons, I would avoid Eugenie for a kid growing up in an English speaking area because of the pronunciation issues. That’s the only reason Eugenie is not on my PNL. Eugenia - I would pronounce yoo-jean-ee-ah or yoo-jean-ah.

It's beautiful, but I much prefer it with a soft "g" sound. I'm inclined to pronounce it Eh-oo-JEH-niuh.
