I think both Amelia and Amalia are lovely. Either name is very feminine and classy.

I absolutely love it. It is one of those names that is high on my list, but not at the top, so I am unsure I would get to use it. I've always liked it more than Amelia. I think it is classy. If I wasn't so stuck on honoring family, I would use it as a middle name for my favorite name, Larisa. My inner-Slovene also loves Larisa Amalija. :-)

Amalia has been a favorite of mine for years now! I think it's very pretty. I'm with you on Amelia -- I've never liked it.

I agree. Amalia = pretty. Amelia = not great.

I love this and prefer it to Amelia. The first time I saw it was last summer, and I love it. I haven't really made any combos with it, but I like it. I went to summer camp with an Amalia.

I prefer Amalia over Amelia because of its... self-confidence - it doesn't feel as sweet as Amelie. It is a dark red name, when Amelia just nice and plain.

I adore Amelia, so it's probably not a surprise that I feel the opposite. It's kind of like Amelia, just not right somehow. It just doesn't sound as smooth to my ear.
