[Opinions] Gemma / Jemma
What do you think of Gemma ? I think it's kind of cute. I like it a lot better than Emma and I like the "gem" part. WDYT ? Do you know many Gemma's ? Do you prefer Jemma ? I can't decide which spelling I prefer. It used to be Jemma but I think now it's Gemma.

My husband has a few Italian cousins named Gemma. I find it beautiful. Jemma seems mispelled to me...

I used to know a Gemma, and I know one Jemma, but her name is short for Jemima, which I like infinitely better. I don't like the look of the two 'm's together. I think if I had to pick I would choose Jemma, because of Jemima, and because I like that person better lol. Also I don't like 'g' much and 'j' is really in my head at the moment.

Gemma and Jemma are really popular in Australia. Gemma is one of my favourite names though. I like the Gemma spelling because of the gem connotations as well.

I really like Gemma and it is my prefered spelling. I don't know any personally, but I know that it is my mom's teaching assistant's sister's name. They were born in Italy.

I knew a baby Jemma, but not anymore. ( i tihnk it was with a J but im not 100% sure) I really prefer Jenna its more pretty to me and it sounds less "prissy".But for Jemmas I like it better with a J becasue G's have never really worked well with me and J is more feminie

Definitely Gemma over Jemma since "gem" is the origin.Gemma is very beautiful. It's one of those overlooked names that could realistically become more popular. But for now it's in the "happily obscure" category. Have you thought about mns for it? Gemma Carys pops to mind.

I like Gemma, but only Gemma, not Jemma. I don't think they really sound alike...
It is sort of borderline cutesy (IMO), but still a lot better than Emma / Emmy and the like.

It's somewhere between alright and nice. But only if it's spelled Gemma. It just looks so much nicer to me.
