What do you think of the name Graenum (pronounced Gray-num) and calling him Grae/Gray for short?
Also, how do you like the spelling Graeme vs. Graham?
Please say which country you live in too, since I live in the US and these are European names.

Graenum looks very made up and makes me think of mushed up brains. Sorry i know that wasn't a pleasant description.
I love Graeme and like it 100x better than Graham, mostly because of pronunciation. I say Graham as gray-um or gram, and Graeme as GRAYM.

I don't like Graenum. If there were someone with that name though, I think calling him Grae/Gray would be fine.
I love Graeme and Graham though. I live in the US too. I think here you'd be best off to just spell it Graham because most people would probably pronounce Graeme GRAYM. Unless you want it pronounced that way.

i think Graenum is a little too "Roman" for use. maybe better for a story than real life.
I do love, Graeme/Graham, however! I had a professor named Graeme and a friend named Graham, so I have good associations with this name! (i also like Graham Green's books-haha) I like both spellings, though Graeme is more interesting to the eye. some people are afraid of how to pronounce it correctly, though, so if you want to make it clear i'd go with Graham. you can also spell it Grahame, like the last name of Kenneth Grahame who wrote Wind in the Willows, but i think it looks a little overdone, myself, and kind of like it might be pronounced gra-hame. good luck! :)

I'm going to try not to be too harsh, but Graenum is verbally and aesthetically ugly. I don't know why, but it really makes me think of the word anus :/
Graeme is very good though. Infinitely more appealing to the ears and eyes. I'd go so far as to say I adore it. Graham I've never liked as it gives me a visual of a hunk of grey and mouldy ham.
