[Opinions] Samantha
What do you think of Samantha? I think it's quite elegant in its full form. Do you like the nn Sam or Sammy? Is it common where you live? Do most of the Samanthas you know go by their full name or a nickname?

I've never loved this name, but over the years I've known many people named Samantha. Of the five I can think of at the moment, one uses Sam exclusively and the others use Sam and Samantha and occasionally Sammy depending on the situation.

It's okay. Fine on someone else's child. I prefer the nn Sam. It's pretty common where I live. I think every Samantha I know goes by a nn.

I prefer Samara.

I adore Samantha. But I doubt I would ever ever use it. I like both NNs. Sam the most. I only knew one Samantha. I don't recall her going by a NN.

I love Samantha, but I prefer it with no nickname. I am not so fond of Sam or Sammy. I know a few Samanthas and all of them go by Sam.

Samantha is fairly common among the English -speaking of my area, which is mostly French-speaking. The French almost never use it, because of the "th" sound, so difficult in French.
The Samanthas I know mostly are called Sam...have not known a Sammy.

Hello, my name is Samantha and I'm not crazy about it but I can't say it's a horrible name. I don't get picked on and people tell me they like it. I do think it is a bit boring, though. It's not that popular here. I'm in my last year of high school and there is only one other Samantha in my grade. (Considering there are nearly 400 kids in my grade, that's not too bad.) I like to go by Sam, but I spell it Samm. I just like it better. Some people call me Sammy, but I didn't ask them to, they do that on their own. I don't really mind, but I think Sam is cuter.

It's a bit dated, and I find it quite dull. I'm not a fan of Sam or Sammmy.
I'm not sure how common it is here. I remember there were two Samanthas in my year at school, so it was fairly popular for my generation.
