[Opinions] Lacey
I am expecting number 3. I am liking the name Lacey (for girl) due to the fact it's not too different, and yet- not too popular. Please share with me your opinion of the name. Thanks

Knickers, just knickersI can appreciate the appeal but that's my first thought. In saying that I don't find it 'trashy' or brassy strangely enough. Just flouncy and precious like little frilly delicates.

It's certainly not my usual style and I tend to be against names that are also nouns (or in this case an adjective), but there are a few that I find to be exceptions....apparently, this is one of them. I actually think that it can stand on its own and even has the potential of aging well. Congrats on #3!...I say, "go for it!"

I like it. It reminds me of a teacher I had called Mr Lacey. Also, a bit of lace e.g. A lacey dress. I do still like it though because it's not too girly and is rather friendly name. I prefer the spelling Lacie though.

I guess Lacey is kind of pretty, but it seems flimsy as a name. I would love to see Lucy used instead. It's also not too different, but not too popular. Plus, it wouldn't be trendy or associated with one time period or age. Congrats and best wishes!

The only person I know named Lacey is a guy, so to me it's a guy's name. It's ok, not something I would use though.

I've always liked it. Congratulations, by the way!

I don't like the name, because it makes me think of Lacey Peterson. I can't get the image out of my head.

It's my cousin's name, so I like it, but I might be biased. ;D I think it's pretty.

I'm sorry but I absolutely hate it. It's very downmarket and IMO is trashy.Of course this is just my opinion!I think it is my most hated name ever!

I'm probably going to sound like a lot of the other posters... It's cute, or cutesy, really. Not something I would name a child because I don't see it as a great name to grow into adulthood with. If you like Lacey, maybe you'd also like: Whitney, Kelsey, Chelsea, Mallory or Meredith? Bottom line though: if you love it, then go with it.

I don't like it. I've met quite a few Laceys throughout the years (including my baby cousin) and I've just never warmed up to it. It sounds sickly sweet to be, like Macy, Casey, Jacey, and Dacey (there's a little girl in my town named Dacey). It doesn't feel like a name a child can grown into.

I really think you should go with Larissa or Larisa and call her Lacey is a nickname. Lacey doesn't sound very mature at all for an adult, so it would be good to have a name to fall back on.In my opinion it is also quite unbecoming for a child. I'd take a look around this site for some more upwardly-mobile name selections.

Honestly, I really dislike that name. It sounds overly frilly and tacky and dare I say trashy to me. Sorry.

I've always liked it. Yet it seems nicknamey, but I know it's not a nickname. What could it be a nickname for? Nothing that I can think of. I guess I'm trying to say that it sounds a bit insubstantial. It is pretty, though. I do like it.

yeah, I understand what you are saying...and no, I don't think it's a nickname. Guess it's kinda like Casey...maybe?

Maybe, but it's much prettier and more feminine than Casey! The L sound makes all the difference!
