[Opinions] Genevieve
WDYT of Genevieve nn Eva? I love Eva but it always seemed too short to be a full name, and I dislike Evelyn. I also dislike Eve, but that could be a nn for Genevieve as well. Do you prefer Eva or Genny as a nn?

I definitely prefer Eva as a nn, but they would probably get called Eve a lot. Ginny would be good too, but Eva is still better.

I don't think I could shorten something as lovely as Genevieve to a nickname.I like:Genevieve Camille
Genevieve Cecile*
Genevieve Chantal
Genevieve Charlotte

Honestly, I would just use Eva. I can't stand Genevieve because it sounds so bratty.

I prefer Eva / Evie by far. Evangeline is another one you could use for Eva / Evie.

as an alternative to the overused Jennifer. Genevieve would make an excellent first or middle name. Gene is technically the masculine spelling, though. I don't see how Eva can be a nickname for Genevieve, but Lily is an old nickname for Elizabeth.

I've never cared for the name but it's far from terrible. Eve makes more sense, to me, as a nick name but Eva is nice too. I strongly prefer it to Genny.

Genevieve is pretty pronounced the French way, but Eva seems a bit of a stretch as a nn.

I have an ancient cousin called Genevieve, who's known as Viva.
Really prefer Eva as a full name, though.

I used to hate Genevieve, it sounded extremely bratty and ugly to me, but I've warmed up to it. Not enough to use it, but maybe enough to not recoil in horror when I see it, lol! I especially hate the super ugly French pronunciation of it, I think JENNA-veev sounds a million times prettier and smoother than the ugly JON-vee-EV. Yuck.Eva is nice as a nickname, but honestly I think it's super gorgeous as a full name, much nicer than Genevieve any day. Nothing wrong with a short name. After all Ava is super popular and it's the same amount of letters. So is Amy and Ada. I'd prefer Genny or Genna as a nickname to Genevieve.

I wholeheartedly DISagreeI've never heard anything quite as grotesque as JENNA-veev. It's butchering the way it's supposed to be pronounced; but I guess I just hate Anglicization anyways.

Eva deffinately. I do like Genevieve even though it always, always reminds me of the dog in Madeline.
