Good for someone else, but I love Amelia too much to use Amalia instead. It sort of reminds me a lot of Somalia and famine.

Amalia's lovely.

It's really nice but probably not a name I'd use myself, it's too similar to too many others.

Sounds snobby!

I absolutely love it and I want to use it. I prefer the sound of it to Amelia.

Sounds like, "I'll maul ya." I don't like it at all.

I like Amalia. Where i live in the U.S., I have heard of it being used only among people with a Hispanic/Latino heritage. Amalia seems like a name that could "catch on," and enjoy wider use.I like the sound of Amalia much better than the sound of Amelia. It seems that Amelia gets a lot of attention on this board, but I don't like the "mealy" sound of it.

I love itI'd use it on a daughter, and I think it's more attractive than Amelia, which IMO is a wee bit overrated.

I don't like it. The second A makes it ugly for me, which is weird since Amelia is one of my favorite names.

I love it! I think Amalia is a very "classy classic", underestimated and not as overused as Amelie.
