[Opinions] Erica or Erika?
It's never seemed to be very popular on this board, but since it's my own name I'm struck by a certain curiosity: Erica or Erika (or secret option number three? - I know there are more variations than the two I've given)? How come? We've had enough discussions on the 'best' way to spell Caitlyn/Kaitlyn/Katelyn that we can at least have one about Erica/Erika, I figure. ;)

I have a soft spot for because it is my mother's name. She spells it Erica which I think is much classier.

EricaIt looks softer. I don't like the K in there, it sticks out like a sore thumb to me for some reason.

Erika.I prefer the Scandinavian spelling.I know a lot of people don't seem to like it, but I never understood why. I think it's strong and powerful. My husband and I were seriously considering it until I got a new boss named Erica. There is nothing wrong with her, but sometimes, when you tie a certain name to a certain person, it's hard to picture it on anyone else. I still like it, though.

Tough choice.
Erika is cool.
On the other hand, Erica is the Latin name of the "heather" plant and so has a botanical meaning instead of being a mere feminiisation of Eric.
Looking at the two in print, Erika gets my vote!

Erica is really growing on me lately. Nice name! Erika is nice too, but if I was using it I'd pick Erica.

Personally, I pick secret option 3: Ericka.
I don't dislike any of the spellings (barring Eiryquahh or something like that, obviously), so if I were to pick the spelling I'd use if I were to use the name at all, I'd go with Ericka. It's the spelling that means something to me.

Erica for the flowers ... though Erik is so spiky and Germanic compared to bland Eric ... I know a rather dubious Erika, and my good friend Erica died too young ... OK, Erik for a bloke and Erica for a chick. Go figure!Oh, and please avoid Erycka ...

ErikaThe K makes it more fun! Sharper, more artistic.

I've always liked the look of 'C' over 'K'. Erica gmv. :)
