[Opinions] Pearl
I met a co-worker's boyfriend a few months back. I thought his name was Verle. Turns out it's Pearl. He's in his late 30s/early 40s.

I love Pearl on a boy.
I mean, I know it's really hard to pull off on a boy, but I love it anyway.
It's on my list (you know, with boys' names Vivian, Joscelin, Meredith, Hollis, and Chelsey.)

I do hope his surname isn't Gates. That said, I taught a boy called Jade. He had a sister called Amber.

ive never even heard of Pearl being used as a male name. definitely has a 'boy named Sue' vibe, but it's not without its charm.

I know a male PearlyHe used to go by Tommy (a totally random name; it had nothing to do with his middle name or anything), but when he got into high school he strated using Pearly. It's a family name.

I didn't, but I'll try to work that in next time I see him. Sorry to disappoint you with the gender.

It's ok, it's neat to see!

Well, my husband had a male friend in college named Diamond. The name didn't seem a burden to him. I bet that Pearl is very secure in his masculinity.

My great-grandfather had a brother named Pearl.I only like it for a girl, though.

Sounds strange, doesn't it? Still, men are (occasionally) called Garnet. I went to school with a guy so named.
Edit. A thought..perhaps Pearl was a surname, and he was given it a s a first name. Anyway, well spotted! An interesting sighting.

Hmm...that could be. In any case, it really seems to suit him. Btw, Garnet on a guy is a GP of mine. :)
