Ambrose is one of those names I want to like, but I can't quite get there. I do like Ambrosio and Ambrosios though.

I never thought about Ambrose until I had a dream about a cave scientist who lived in a cave named Ambrose Xavier Winter. And then I loved it. He was a nice guy.

I love Ambrose. I think it's a strong and handsome name. It's definitely one of my favorites.

I only like it because of the Merlin reference. I vastly prefer Ambrosius and Emrys.

My cousin has the Spanish form, Ambrosio.

There is a brand of custard and similar products called Ambrosia, so that's what I think of. Also I find it a bit feminine.

I like it. It's warm and fiery and kind. Plus I love that you could use the nn Abbey.

I imagine a geriatric dog, to be honest. For an old-fashioned name, however, it is rather aligned with my tastes.
It's very steadfast and powerful, but it is noticeably dated.
I'm unsure of how I feel about a baby boy named Ambrose. I'm not taken with the Southern gentleman image.

Hmm I actually kind of like it for a boy and only for a boy. Don't fall into thinking that is is feminine because of the -rose ending. It's definitely usable :)

Not my thing. Not sure why, but it sounds weak and coddled to me - I get a vague image of a dandy prince with lily-white hands. But it's only an image and a name on paper. I think for a real life boy named today, it's not so bad, just a bit formal/stuffy seeming but alright.
