I really like Lucian. I think it looks and sounds very handsome, and it also has a lovely meaning. I pronounce it like your husband does - LOO-shen. I don't really like his chosen nickname for it though...

I like Lucian, which I pronounce "LOO-shen," but I prefer Lucius.

LOO-shun. I really like it =) and I don't generally care for Luc- names. It's the only one I like. Luci "LOO-chee" sounds really pretty dumb to me, if you're not pronouncing the full name LOO-chee-un. It also sounds femmey. I'd just call him Lu (Lou) for short, myself.I think there was a werewolf character named Lucian in the movie "Underworld" and it reminds me a little of that. Kinda one of those fey fantasy/gothish names, but more so when spelled Lucien. Anyway, that doesn't make me like it any less.

Well LOO-shen is the correct pronunciation for this spelling of the name while Lucien is said LOO-see-en. So I say Lucian your way and Lucien LOO-see-en. Luci is a cute nickname. I really like Lucian and think it's quite handsome. HTH
