[Opinions] Cornelius
I love this name even though a nickname would be "Corny", which no one would want. Anyway, I think it is so dignified. Are there any good nicknames for it? Also, what would be some good middle names for it? Maybe a child could still have the dignified first name Cornelius but could go by their middle name if there are no good nicknames for Cornelius.

Here in South Africa it's widely used and so there are a variety of nns. Cor is one; Corrie, but mostly for a woman named Cornelia; Cornel, with a short e and the emphasis on the -nel; Corne, pronounced kor-nay; and even Neil.

I didn't used to like it because it made me think of basketball or football players, until I started thinking of it like a Dutch grandpa. Now I like it.The only Cornelius I know is the current pastor at the church I went to as a kid, and he goes by Case (see Kees). Or you could use Casey, too. I like either of those best.

Alas, it's a nickname for a baboon in South Africa, as Kitty is for a cat and Neddy used to be for a donkey. But in a baboon-free place, it's good!

I adore Cornelius! It's a family name for me. My uncle Conor is really Cornelius (after my great grandfather). So even though they aer not etymologically connected, you could use Conor as a nn for Cornelius. Others: Con, Connie, Neal, Lee, or Cornel.

I like Cornelius as a middle name. I think that Neil would be a nice nickname.

The only thing this makes me think of is Harry Potter. There's a character named Cornelius Fudge.

I rather like Cornelius and I don't mind the nickname Corny or Corney. Other nicknames that might work: Neil, Corr, Cory, Corey or Cors. Or you could use initials as a nickname like Cormelius James "C.J." or Cornelius Tate "C.T." might work. Combos:
Cornelius Daniel
Cornelius Victor
Cornelius James
Cornelius John
Cornelius Tate
Cornelius James
Cornelius Andrew
Cornelius Thomas
Cornelius Vincent
Cornelius Benedict
Cornelius Oliver
Cornelius Jasper
Cornelius Louis
Cornelius Henry
Cornelius David
Cornelius Emmett
Cornelius Elliott
Cornelius Michael
Cornelius Milo
