[Opinions] Maeve or Maia?
Just playing around with my Elodie combos. I really want an M middle name, so I can use the occasional nn Emmie. I like Maia better but I think Maeve sounds better. pretty set on Delphine as the second mn.So, which do you like better? NOTE: I prn. Elodie the French way- as Ay- not Eh-.Elodie Maia Delphine
or
Elodie Maeve Delphine?Any other M names you think would sound good in that spot?
Elodie M____ DelphineThanks :)

I prefer Maeve. Maia's nice too but it's becoming too popular for my taste.

You're right. Every second girl here is named Maia/Maya. I've met so many of them in the last few months. Canada is the same- I met 9 Maya's in one month there. But back home in Aus, where I'd most likely be when naming children, it's really not common, so I'm ok with that. And you are officialy the first person to vote for Maeve :)

I adore Maeve, but I prefer the way Elodie Maia Delphine flows. Both Maeve and Maia are lovely names. I like Elodie and Delphine, too. Delphine is completely and utterly gorgeous.Elodie Margot Delphine and Elodie Moira Delphine are some other ideas.

Thanks! :)Most people are saying Maia so I think I'll stick with that. it's the one I like better, just wasn't sure if it sounded better the other way.Margot & Moira are nms, but thanks for the suggestions.

I think Elodie Maia Delphine is absolutely stunning. I love Maeve, but don't think it works in this combo.Other M name ideas...
Elodie Merewen Delphine
Elodie Manola Delphine
Elodie Mara Delphine
Elodie Marina Delphine
Elodie Mira DelphineHmm, it's kind of hard to pair because you don't want anything too long or complicated sounding. I still think Maia is the best option of all and wouldn't change it! Although I do like Mara or Mira too.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm glad so many people are saying Maia sounds better. i really love Maeve, but I love Maia just slightly more.Your right. Elodie and Delphine are long enough as it is, I think it needs something short sweet and simple.Oooh.I like Mara int he middle there.

I think that Elodie Maia Delphine sounds much better, even though I prefer Maeve just a tad to Maia. When I say Elodie in French there isn't an Ay- sound at the beginning. It's still ELL-lo-dee. Ones of those names that sounds almost exactly the same in English and French for me. Maybe it's just differing accents? I'm not from France or Europe.

Possibly. The family I work for here are Swiss-French and they say El-. I know cause I may have named one of the characters Elodie when Anissa and I made a story book together. I jsut wanted to hear them say it! But the first time I heard the name was skiing in the French alps (on the sweetest little blonde haired blue eyed girl) and they prn. it Ay-. Looovvve it in a French accent.I would write it with the accent over the E, which makes it into the Ay sound (as in Renee or Cafe). Just not sure how to type the accent on here (plus it doesn't link to them name if I do).

I don't like Maeve, but I like Maia even though I prefer Maya. I actually think Elodie Maia Delphine sounds better. Perhaps Elodie Marielle Delphine? Or Elodie Melina Delphine?

Thanks!Wow, just had Marielle suggested twice in a row! It's the girls mums name, and really not a great association, so I wouldn't even consider it and Melina is a little long for me with the other two. But thanks for the suggestions.

I like the style of Maia best sandwiched between Elodie and Delphine. Another idea that immediate came to mind is Elodie Madeleine Delphine and Elodie Marielle Delphine.

I really am in like with Elodie Maeve Delphine.BUTElodie Maia Delphine is like music! And not a tittering flute of a musical name. She's an entire orchestra playing the very begining of your favorite song!

I prefer Maia too. I guess Maeve flows in a more conventional way, but Eloide Maia Delphine still flows so I wouldn't worry
