[Opinions] WDYT of these Persian and Turkish names
I'm reading a book about a family escaping from Iran to Turkey and later to Sweden.Persian names:
Feteme (female, a form of Fatima)
Nahid (female)
Ayshe (maybe a form of Aïsha)
The children's names: Farzad (male), Behzad (male) and Shahrzad (female)
Omran (male)
Abdol (male)
Gita (female)
Mansor (male)Turkish names:
Aslan (male, you know now where C S Lewis got the name for the lion of Narnia)
Hikmat (male)
Gunesh (female)The only name which sounds familiar to me is Gita. The "problem" with the other names is that you often don't know if they are male or female. But the only one which I don't like is Hikmat, I just don't like the sound."But it’s all right now.
I learned my lesson well.
You see you can’t please everyone
So you got to please yourself."
Rick Nelson, Garden Party"It does not become me to make myself smaller than I am." (Edith Södergran 1891-1923)
