Thanks to Tammy, I will always think of Lilith as Lilith Morgana June!!

Love it esp. because of the Lilith myth.

I don't really like it. It has a dark, witchy feel to it, which I don't admire.

Lilith is my current favorite name...I love it

I really love it! I think it is powerful and feminine. I have been debating whether or not to put it on my list "officially".

It's a pretty sound but too self consciously edgy for me to really like. Lilith is what the goth kid in high school names their cat. I think Lilit has less of the association and it also looks and sounds more beautiful and timeless. I love Lilit. It is occasionally used in Armenia, which is interesting. I wonder if there is a different mythology surrounding Lilith there?

agreeI also really would rather it were Lilit, for the sound of that ... it'd be neat if the Armenian name you mention had a different origin. But the myths ... seem rather misinterpreted by people who like the name Lilith, to me. Everyone wants to interpret it as if she were some kind of rebel or grrl power figure, which assumes a default subjugated status of women. All I've read is the Wikipedia entry on Lilith, which refers to many different accounts of what Lilith supposedly meant before modern times, so I could be corrected - but approximately none of it is empowering to women. Lilith seems to exist to create or, at best, passively affirm an association between femaleness / female sexuality and demons, night, danger to men, and evil. Bleagh. Goth cat, totally.I'm voting Lilith down, Leila and Liana up, for sexy name of the month.

i like it. It's pretty.

I like it! I think it's a little more gutsy and interesting than Liliana, and more substantial and grown-up than Lily or Lilia on it's own. Pretty!

I love Lilith. Great name. I love the sound of it and the biblical anti-doormat. It's one of the few "lily-ish" names that I still love.

It's soft and beautiful, but at the same time, it has an edge. I like it.
