[Opinions] Svea
I recently stumbled upon this name and I think it is gorgeous! I'm not one for short names, but there is something spunky about this name that I just can't stop saying it. Do you think someone could get away with it even if they're not Swedish? Do you think it's too out there? What do you think of it?

Love!!It's definitely not too out there - I LOVE it, and I don't feel this way about very many girl names! It might be hard to pull off if you're not Swedish, but it definitely is gorgeous. There's something really cool about Sv- names, for some reason.

Yes!! Sv- names are so majestic. Especially where I am, literally no one has names like that. Everyone here is Michael, Chris, or Matthew. Svea is just so lilting but edgy. Currently obsessed, can you tell? :D

I think this is great!

I'm not usually big on female Scandinavian names, but this one has a certain charm and it would be relatively easy for those outside of Scandi to say and spell. Could grow on me.

I like it. It's very sweet sounding, to me. But it definitely has an edge to it. I don't think it'd be hard to pull off not being Swedish. It's easy enough to spell and pronounce that I just can't see it being a serious issue. It's forgein without being too forgein, imo.

It's an alright name I guess, but very dated. But I'm Swedish, nobody else would probably know that. I do have a friend named Svea though, she's 20 and at first I had quite a shock when I found out her name. Svea is a name I don't expect anyone under 70 years old to have. I don't think it's too out there and I guess it could work in another country. I would probably laugh if I heard a american prn Svea though, it isn't exactly as easy to prn as Astrid for example.
