Zephyr feels like a comic book hero, like Thor or Odin. Sorry, it's just not my style. At best I could see it as a nn for Zephaniah. But make it Zephyrine and suddenly I'm thinking about glorious associations like Princess Marie-Zephyrine of France or "Zephyrine Drouhin" climbing roses (I have them in my yard. They don't mind a north facing wall to climb up and give the most beautiful cherry pink roses throughout the summer). What would you say to Zephyrine?

I feel exactly like you do. I like the look and sound, but what's holding me back from loving it is the nagging feeling that it belongs in a sci-fi book or video game.

Bluh. Really over the top anime character name.

I think it's a good name for a character, and I like the meaning and connection to Greek mythology. I like how it looks, but how it sounds lacks something, I think.

I fell for it after watching a movie where one of the characters was named Zeph. I probably wouldn't use it in real life , but I think it's a great name with a great nickname.

It's just not a name for a person to me. It seems too over-the-top. Plus I strongly associate it with the Zephyr Cape from Final Fantasy III and a rat my brother had when we were kids, named Zephyr, after said cape. Although a name that makes me think of wind blowing a cape is really cool, but just like I said, over-the-top for a real person. However, methinks you're probably asking hypothetically, in which case cool, make an awesome cape-blowing combo with it. :)
