Camille but..ONLY with the French prn. Cami. If you're going for the -mill or -meel prn. then my vote goes to Camilla.I adore Camille prn. Cami.

Camilla. I don't enjoy unisex names in general, and this one sounds disconcertingly like the Afrikaans for 'camel'.Pity about Prince Charles's missus.

Definitely Camille. Camilla makes me think of some rude, middle-aged stuck-up cow.

Camilla, absolutely! It's at once stronger and more refined than Camille.

I prefer Camille by far. Camilla sounds kind of cold and on the snobby side to me. I really like Camila (ka-MEE-la), though.

Camille! :DCamilla is nice. I just think Camille is prettier, more elegant and down to earth.

I prefer Camille all the way around. While I also prefer the French pronunciation (kah-MEE), I realize it wouldn't be pronounced that way where I'm from so I was thinking I could let everyone pronounce her full name kah-MEAL and let her nn be Cami (kah-MEE). That way I'd still be able to pronounce it the way I liked and it's not that much different from Demi (Moore). IOW, it shouldn't be that confusing to pick up on.

Camille. Camilla seems like overkill and the added syllable makes the name sound clunky. There's also the Parker-Bowles association -- in spite of not being British, she's the first thing that pops into my mind when I hear the name.

I prefer Camille. Camilla reminds me too much of Camilla Parker-Bowles.

My mom's name is Camilla, but I have to say that I prefer Camille. Camilla sounds rather harsh, and I like Camille because it honors my French roots.

Camille. I am very fond of the name.

Me too! My mother mentioned it the other day (saying that if she were to rename my sister and I, we would be Camille and Olivia) and it's been on my mind since.

CamilleEspecially when it's pronounced ka-MEE.

Sound-wise, and on paper, I prefer Camilla but the only association I have to the name is Prince Charles' consort. (I'm not British, but I've always thought it would be a real shame should she ever be granted title as Queen.) On the other hand, I knew a Camille who is a lovely person inside and out, so I have a positive impression of that name. If I *had* to pick one to use, I suppose it would be Camille.

I actually share those sentiments- I love the way Camilla looks and the possibility of using Mila as a nickname, but the sound is a bit harsher and I'll never be able to disassociate it with Parker-Bowles.

I'm not a fan of either one, but I'd go with Camilla. I don't like the "meel" sound at the end of Camille.
