Help[Opinions] Kirk
What do you guys think of this name? I've only met one Kirk. It's not a name I hear often and it's not too out there. I think it goes well with Liam AND I don't see an issue with pronunciation.

If it wasn't for my Gilmore Girls image, maybe. But somehow it just feels laughable.

I think it's really unattractive, sound-wise. It reminds me of the sound you'd make if you were choking. Also it seems dated, and like a lot of surname names kind of boring. So I don't like it at all, but I agree that it's familiar without being common and that the pronunciation isn't a problem, at least for English speakers. It goes OK with Liam but I like Liam a lot better.

I've always had a thing for Scottish history and culture. Plus my parents went on their honymoon there. So the name Kirk brings up many great associations for me. It's so rugged sounding. And as you say there are no pronunciation issues, or spelling ones at that. I love how Liam and Kirk sound together. I see no downsides for you. :-D

I totally agree. It's not common but easy to pronounce, and goes well with Liam. I love this name. I vote a strong Yes.

Oddly I only know one Kirk and she's a woman in her early 60's. I don't know the story....

I'm not sure. I like it alright, though it makes me think of Star Trek. Also one of my best friends goes to a "kirk" instead of a "church" so it feels a bit word-namey to me. It's definitely one you don't see much and it's easy to pronounce. Liam and Kirk do go well together. I would give it a yes vote.

I like the crisp sound of it, and anything that makes me think of Captain Kirk is a plus in my book, but I can't really work up any enthusiasm for Kirk. It might be Kirk Cameron, in all his banana-waving, gay-bashing, hyper-religious weirdness that taints it for me.
I guess I wouldn't mind seeing Kirk on someone else's kid, but it's not a name I'd ever consider myself. I agree that it's easy to pronounce and works well with Liam.

Not a big fan. It feels dated (I know lots of Kirks, plus it's so close to Kurt, sounds basically the same in my accent if you're saying them quickly). Also I just don't like that sound, don't like Kurt either. It's just not attractive to me. I wish I liked Kirk because I like the meaning/association.
