About the same as my reaction to a baby named Alice. It seems domestic and obedient. NMS, although a decent name, of course.
And, looWEEZ ... I just don't like the sound of it. Irritating.

I would squeal with delight, because I have grown fond of this name. It reminds me of Louise Brooks.

I LOVE Louise.

I'd secretly think it was too bad since Louise seems terminally dated in my mind. OTOH, I'd be happy to meet a tiny Louisa.

glee. I love Louise. I love Louisa too. Either would make me happy.

I wouldn't choose it for MY child, but it would be a good old-fashioned, refreshing name to see...

I have been falling for Louise. I am not completely there yet but I think I will be soon. It would be so sweet and unexpected!

I would exult! I love its staid, continental dignity and charm. Also, the nicknames Lou and Lulu are adorable!

I'd say "It's good to see a little Louise. It's a classic name that was a middle name staple following the Ann and Marie craze, until ousted by Rose and Grace, and I'm glad to see a baby with it as a first name. Louisa is beautiful but Louise has a certain chic, and these days it's not overused."

I'd be happy to meet her. Louise has always been in steady use where I live, but never either hugely popular or totally dated. So it's fine. And I far prefer Louise to Louisa!
