I love Caroline and Elizabeth. They are beautiful, classic names. My favourite nicknames are Carly and Libby.

My first daughter was Caroline, no nn, and my second daughter got Elizabeth as a mn - so it's pretty clear what I think of them! When she took part in radio phone-ins occasionally, Daughter 2 used to call herself Bess.

I really like them both. My favorite nicknames are Caro & Eliza. I think Beth is really sweet, though.I think they would make great sisters.

Caroline is nice, but I wouldn't personally use it. Elizabeth I find lovely though. I don't know what my fave nn for Caroline would be, as I don't think it needs one. As for Elizabeth, Lizzie would be my fave, but Eliza is also nice.

I think they're both classics and you can't go wrong with either. But personally, I like Caroline a lot more than Elizabeth. It's probably because Elizabeth feels very "been there, done that" to me. It's everywhere. I don't come across many Carolines, though. I also prefer the light, open sound of Caroline to the heaviness of Elizabeth. If I had an Elizabeth, I'd try to avoid Liz. I like Beth, Betty/Betsy, Libby, and Eliza as nicknames (though I'd be more inclined to use Eliza on its own.) I think I would call Caroline by her name in full, maybe occasionally Cara.

Both my favorites for their initial letter.
Cara and Beth or Ellie

I have a bad association with Caroline, i much prefer Charlotte.Elizabeth is nice, but prefer it spelt with an s. Looks much softer spelt that way.

Ha, my sister and I are Caroline and Elizabeth. I like Caroline and love Elizabeth.I prefer both without nicknames, honestly. If I had to choose, I'd say Caro or Calla for Caroline and Lizzie for Elizabeth. I love Eliza, but I kind of consider it its own name.ETA: I'm also a fan of Betsy for Elizabeth. I really don't like Ellie as a nn. It seems forced and unnatural (which Betsy does too, but I think Ellie annoys me because it was such a fad a couple years ago and people tried to force Ellie out of everything)

They're both fine names. Not particularly exciting, but nice enough and will age well.I like Cara as a nickname for Caroline. Libby is my favourite name for Elizabeth. I prefer Elspeth to Elizabeth - I think it's a bit more interesting.

I adore Caroline. It suits all ages, personalities and images in my mind. I wouldn't use any nickname.Elizabeth is nice, but I much prefer the softer Elisabeth spelling. I like a lot of nicknames- Ellie, Ella, Elle, Beth, Libby, Liza. I really don't like Liz though, and a lot of people might naturally shorten Elizabeth to that.

I love both. Caroline is my younger sister's name and Elizabeth is my older sister's middle name (FN Lucy). I think they are both timeless and beautiful. I prefer no NN for Caroline, although I like Lina (with a long I), which we sometimes call my sister. For Elizabeth I like Ellie or Elsie best.

I like them both. I don't really like any nicknames for them. Callie is nice but I don't think it makes any sense as a nickname for Caroline so I would avoid it. I do like Callista nn Callie. Liz is my favorite nickname for Elizabeth but I prefer the full name. I do think that Elizabeth is too common. Caroline is pretty uncommon in some parts of the US but very popular in others. It depends on where you live. I'd be more likely to use Caroline because Elizabeth has been so common for so long.

I love both of them...beautiful, timeless classics with plenty of nice nicknames to choose from if a Caroline or an Elizabeth doesn't want to go by her full name.Caro is my favorite nickname for Caroline. My favorite nicknames for Elizabeth are Eliza, Lizzy, Libby, Bess, and Lisbet.

Caroline is just okay to me. I think Carolina is prettier and so is Carolyn, in a different way. I really like the name Carol, but would just use it by itself and not as a nickname.Elizabeth is as dull as dishwater to me. Beth is cute but again, I'd rather just use it by itself if I was going to use it at all. Liz makes a friendly fun nn for Elizabeth, and Betty is a great grandma name.
