I love Gertrude. It's one of my all-time favourite names ever. I like old-fashioned names - the more old-fashioned, the better.
Esther is very pretty, in a quiet, moody way.
If I had to name a baby either, I would go with Esther, only because I wouldn't want to saddle a child with a name that most people she'll meet won't necessarily like.
