What are your thoughts on Astrid. It's really growing on me atm

Love it. It's always been one of my favourites.

I don't like the "ass" syllable. Also, Assy could be a nn.

I've always liked Astrid. Possibly because I know the controversial body part as an arse, not an ass. But it sounds beautifully serene and starry.
That said, the only one I've ever known is large and loud and really not my type! But still I like the name.
Of -rid names, my first preference would be for Sigrid, then Astrid, and dowdy Ingrid last.

I like Astrid. It's a hard name but I admire that. I don't like it enough to use myself but I'd be very pleased to see it being used more often.

I had a friend who's mum was named Astrid. Actually everyone in the family had a name starting with A. Antionette was my friend and she has two younger sisters named Andrea and Amanda and a younger brother named Andre. I can't remember what her dads name is though. Anyway, I don't mind the name Astrid, it's quite nice.

I love Astrid. It makes me think of astronomy on the one hand, and fjords and Norse gods on the other.

I don't like it. I just sounds rather harsh and unapealing\unatractive to me. Not to mention, reminds me of a few, unpleasant connotions.

Sorry, but I really loathe this one! It sounds old, gray, stiff and sounds like a**.
It certainly has a lovely meaning and write Astrid Lindgren is a hero to me!

I like Astrid and always have. It's a little heavy, though. Reminds me of a very stern woman with orthopedic shoes.

I really like Astrid. It comes across, to me, as strong and feisty which is something I like in a good name. Plus it has a great meaning and isn't too hard to spell or pronounce but is still somewhat uncommon (at least where I live). It also reminds me of stars (I think because of the Astr- beginning) so that's another plus for me :). I've never been bothered by, or really noticed, the As- syllable.

I love Astrid. It was my grandmother's name. I can see myself using it both as a first name and as an honouring middle name. Right now, I think I prefer it as a middle name but I'm always delighted when I come across a little Astrid.

I was just thinking about Astrid yesterday. Astrid is really really cool - almost too cool for me, haha. I think of Astrid Kirchherr, a good German friend and early photographer for The Beatles in the late 50s/early 60s. It's definitely a harsh sound, which turns some people off. I find it unapologetic and well-balanced. Thumbs up from me.
