[Opinions] Ivy (m)
A friend had her baby girl a couple of days ago and named her Ivy. I always liked the name but was not prepared for how happy it would make me to see it used in real life! The mother's name is Holly. I have to say it took me a while for the 'Holly and Ivy' connection to click in my head, but when it did I thought it was neat.:0)Formerly KatjaEidisMy PNL is now rateable!:

I love the name Ivy! There was a girl named Ivy in a Christmas book we had when I was little, and it struck me as being both pretty and awesomely hardcore. I wanted to name my future daughter Ivyanna, which I still think is a good combination...

Love the Ivy and Holly connection!I considered that a while ago to honor my sister Holly, but completely forgot about it. It would make me happy to meet an Ivy too. It's so simple and sweet.

The Holly and Ivy thing....initially I thought it made me a little sad at the lameness. But also it's a bit sweet. Bad idea for sisters, but I guess it's a bit endearing for mother-daughter. I do think Ivy is a great great name.

I don't mind the name. Years back, I first came across this name on a little girl who's now in highschool. At first, I thought the name was very, very strange. However, it is not a name I'd ever use if I was expecting because it reminds me of:Poison Ivy
IV (Medical apparatus)
HIV (I'm very sorry that my brain happened to make this connection. Me apologizes.Other that all that, Ivy is a pretty nice name. I LOVE the name Holly

Thank goodness! When I saw Ivy (m) I feared that a boy had been named Ivy!I've got a Holly niece, OK stepniece, who is pleasant but somehow not quite comfortable in her own skin. Can't put my finger on it. Generally speaking I'm not keen on -olly names, except Polly which I like a lot. Dolly, however, Holly, Molly and Ollie just don't do it for me. But Holly is a wonderful plant!Ivy, though, is a pain of a plant. Gloomy, invasive and unforgivably difficult to get rid of. Together they make a fine carol, though.

I love the name Ivy and I love the name Holly too. I think it's cute that the names are linked.
