It's fine and doesn't seem to bother Natalie Portman.

I find it bland and dated for any kind of baby!

I wouldn't think anything of it. I like it as a middle name.

I think it's nice, and if a nice Jewish girl like Natalie Portman can carry it off, why can't any other?

Speaking as a Jewish person: I've known several Jewish people named Natalie. My (fairly religious) grandma was meant to be named Natalie, but it ended up as her middle name. To be honest, I never realized that Natalie had a christian meaning. It is significantly easier for me to imagine a Jewish Natalie than a, idk, Jewish Christopher or a Jewish Paul.

Aheheheheh...My dad is Jewish (albeit non-practising, but raised in the faith) and he's called Paul, although you wouldn't realise that he or his parents/siblings were Jewish based on their full names alone.

I would find it strange if the parents were religious Jews. Otherwise no. My sister dated a non-religious Jew named Peter, the name Jesus gave Simon because he would be the Rock of the Church.

No, secular Jews. And then there is of course Natalie Portman... hm. I was just wondering.

I don't know. I'm an atheist and in reverse order my full name means "Christmas victory".Natalie's an ok name imo. It chafes my nerves a bit because I'm a name nerd, but I don't think most people know or care about the meaning.

I think it's a fine name and the meaning shouldn't be a problem. Does Christmas Day carry bad connotations for the Jewish people? I am an uninformed gentile when it comes to most things.I once knew a Muslim girl named Natalia.

Okay, but Jesus is a prophet in Islam...Not bad connotations, no.

Oh, pffft. I didn't even know that. Like I said, uninformed. :)

:)Yepp, Muslims respect Jesus. He is just seen as hanging around with messages from God and is the last prophet sent by God.
