[Opinions] Essie
Do you think Essie could work as a nickname for Elspeth? I like both names and thought I could maybe link them? Not keen on Elsa, Elsie as a nickname for Elspeth and whilst I like Pethi not sure it would catch on lol
Thoughts?

I think so.
I do prefer it as a nn for Esther, but yeah, it works.
And it's definitely better than Pethi!

It's a bit of a stretch but could work.
Ooo I like Espie :)
Nice. I feel it could also easily give way to Epsie. or Pepsi.
I think it works. I like Elspeth and can see it being used, especially with such a sweet nickname.
As I've mentioned on the board before, I'm an Elspeth who predominantly goes by Elsie.
I think Essie could definitely work for Elspeth.
I also think Pethi could catch on, I myself some times go by Peth (one example being my BTN username). I once tried to get Ethie/Effy to catch on as a nickname but it didn't take. However, I think that was mainly because I was a 13+ age and I was trying to impose it myself. I think if you were to use Pethi right from the get go it would certainly stick.
Fun fact another nn I have is Spiffy, although it's more of a childhood one, it stems from my granny's mispronunciation of Elspeth (el-SPIFF) . Basically what I'm trying to say is that there are plenty of nicknames that work for Elspeth beyond Elsie and Ellie, and if you want them to work, they'll work.

Oh my gosh, yes, Essie would be the cutest nickname for Elspeth!
