[Opinions] Avril
I'm really liking Avril at the moment. What are your thoughts?Whilst looking up this name I also came across the beautiful Everild. Thoughts on this one too please?~ Always end the name of your child with a vowel, so that when you yell the name will carry ~

Love both, for different reasons. Avril is chic and ethereal. Love the combo Avril Sinéad. It was inspired by thw two rockers, but I love that they have such unexpectedly sweet, girly names. Everild is quirky, Anglo-Saxon-y heaven. It has a heavier feeling than Avril which is not necessarily better or worse than the light-as-air feeling I get from Avril. Everild Joan is my combo for it. The modern form of Everild is Averill ("AV-ur-il") which is sometimes confused with Avril / April. Love that one too.

Hmm. It doesn't really grab me, but if I met one it might grow on me.Everild is much more my cup of tea. It seems to have been mainly Everilda in the last two centuries, like most other -hild Anglo-Saxon survivals. Nice with either spelling.

I find Avril and April pretty dated, but Everild is absolutely beautiful. Never heard of it before

I'm not a fan. It should be avREEL and when it's not, it just seems like surname-name Averill spelled to look like a French month name ... doesn't have a lot of character on its own.Everild is pretty neat. Weird, but neat. I like it. Feels like Edith and Mildred, but less antique and more just unusual.

I really really really liked Avril a few years ago, it was on my top ten every month, then it fell away and I just started liking it again. I like v's so it's more appealing than April (or my ex's favorite, Abril). I don't strongly associate it with Avril Lavigne really. She doesn't have the popularity she once did (if you had a child named Avril, perhaps other parents/people your age would make the connection, but the child's peers would probably not). I don't really strongly associate it with much of anything, except springtime. I don't like the ending of Everild though.

I want to like Avril, but my mind automatically finishes it "Lavigne." Not necessarily insurmountable or the worst association in the world, but it's strongly tied to her for me.I think Everild is very cool. Not quite sure why, but I my first thought it that is would be prefect in the middle spot or perfect on a female lead in a fantasy/historical novel.
