I love it too. I don't care that it rhymes with "puke". But my son says, "Thank God you didn't name me Luke".

It's nice but a bit popular. You can't really go wrong with Luke. It isn't exciting by any means, but it is a nice, solid classic.

A favourite of mine, love the meaning

I detest this name and always have. This and Lucas make my skin crawl. It's the combination of the L the U and the K sound that just gives me the willies. Usually I dislike names because of associations, but this one I dislike purely based on sound (and maybe partly on the association with puke). I think it's a tasteful name, I just can't like it myself.

I really like it (: Luke is just this classic & handsome name that I have always admired. I prefer Lucas a bit more but Luke, whether as a nickname or as a full name, still very solid.
Lovely, lovely name!

It's ok. I don't dislike it, but I don't like it enough to use it.

It's one of my least favourites of the super common boy names. My daughter has both a Luke and a Lucas in her very small class, and though they are sweet boys, the names make me cringe... I think it's all the unfortunate associations... mucus, puke, lukewarm, leukaemia, leukocyte (which for me, with my kidney problems = not good). I tend to grow to dislike very common names over time as I am overexposed to them anyway, and this name has the added disadvantages of the negative word associations.

It's ok. It was so popular over here after Star Wars that I know/have known dozens. So to me its pretty boring...

I love Luke! One of my friends from high school has a son named Luke, and he's cute as a button! It's such a ruggedly handsome name.
