[Opinions] Annabel or Isabella? (more)
If you had to choose one of these two and couldn't use nicknames or change spellings, which one would you choose and why? Annabel or Isabella?

Isabella, as Annabel is too similar to my own name.

I prefer Annabel. Just wish it didn't make me think of evil dolls, lol.

Oh yes, me too! I don't have that problem so much with Annabel but with Annabelle. That stupid movie hahaha :P

Annabel all the way! Even though I had two marvellous great-aunt Isabellas, both known as Bella, I really can't warm up to it.Choosing between Annabel and Isobel (or Isabel) would be much harder. But I think Annabel would still shade it.

AnnabelBut only slightly so. I much prefer -bel endings to -Bella ones because they feel lighter, but Isobel or Isabel appeals more than Annabel, which just feels more like tacking on a decorative ending than anything else.m

While I much prefer Annabelle to Annabel, it's still the name I would go with. Isabella is just way over done.

Annabel. Isabella comes off as heavyset to me.

Annabel, definitely. Isabella is just too much, too frilly and too popular. I love Isabel, but I'd probably still pick Annabel because of Isabel's popularity.

Hi Perrine !!!100 % Isabella!!!Annabel seems "religious and dated".Instead Isabella in Italy has still something aristocratic and elegant in it. Most people here would judge it "particular but positive".It is increasing in popularity but it has a romantic noble vibe in it. Infact many princesses (Italian but especially Spanish) had this name in the past and this link i still strong I think.

Wow, Annabel seems religious? I had no idea it had any religious connections.

Hi !!!It is my opinion obviously but yes it seems religious to me like a 1800s Puritan woman..or simply in a stricky religious family. I dont know why..

Isabella. I just don't like Annabel and I can't figure out why. But I would honestly smash them together and just go for Isabelle / Isobel if I could.

Annabel because I love Annabel especially spelled this way. And I don't like Isabella at all.

Annabel! This is my preferred spelling of the name anyway. I just like the sound better, although I do like Isabella too. And of course Annabel is less popular, which is a plus.

AnnabelI like the meaning and sound more, plus it reminds me of the seaside and Edgar Allan Poe (who I associate with ravens, my dad, and my sort-of-hometown).

AnnabelIt has a spunk that Isabella doesn't and I just find it prettier overall. Plus, it's not as overdone (at least in my area).

Annabel, because I hate the "izz" sound in Isabella, and "bella" is heavy in a way "bel" isn't.

I agree with this. Bel is much livelier.

Annabel.Simply because I like the look and sound of it better. I also prefer names that do not end in an -a.
