I like Marilyn. I think it's classic but spunky. I could totally see it on a modern day kid.

It's cute but feels very dated.

I'll be in the minority and say I don't like it. It sounds like you want your kid to grow up and be a foolish sex kitten. It doesn't help that the Marilyns I've known in real life were generally trashy. I'd put it one step up from Bambi. Sorry.

I love the name! It's vintage and unique, personally I think it's adorable. Not only is it sweet on a little girl but will transition nicely through to later life.

I love Marilyn! To me it's got a vintage vibe and I know a ton of older Marilyn's so I know it ages well. I'd rate it an 8 out of 10. If I met a small child named Marilyn, I'd be very pleased.

I agree with Myosotis.
I like the vintage vibe and that its not popular.
Sounds good in my ears :)

I love Marilyn! To it has a a very fun, energetic, glamorous, stylish, 50s/60s film star vibe to it, probably because of Marilyn Monroe. I love the vintage feel it has, and the fact it's not very popular (where I live). I think she'd fit perfectly with sisters Beatrix, Tallulah, and Margaux. If my favourite boys' name didn't clash too much with Marilyn, I'd consider her for a second girl. I'd rate her 8 or 9 out of 10 I think.

It's dated but pretty. I guess it will always have a sexy image due to Marilyn Monroe, but not enough to render it unusable. I like it, but not enough to put it on my sacred PNL. Around the year 2000, I knew a young couple who named their baby daughter Marilyn, after Marilyn Monroe. This was, of course, long after Marilyn had gone out of style, so it seemed....yes, refreshing.

I never liked it. Even Monroe's image doesn't do anything for the frumpy, dated vibe I get from the name. I picture some 1960's housewife with her hair in rollers, in her bathrobe in the middle of the day, cigarette hanging out of her mouth, drinking black coffee and watching the soaps and spreading vicious gossip about all her friends to all her other friends on the phone.
I'm not wild about Marilyn Monroe either. I mean, she was as artificial and contrived as any reality "star" of today, but with a veneer of innocence and classi ness. Just a veneer.
