[Opinions] What are your favorite Turkish names? (more)
and what do they mean (in case the meaning is not included on this site)?What do you think of my favorites?Ayla (EYE-la)

Miray (mee-rye) - do you know what it means? I guess 'ay' means 'moon' but I got different meanings for the 'mir' part

yessssTurkish nanes have so many wonderful meanings, i wish they were appreciated more. i haven't geard of Eylul before, and i love it. reminds me of rain, and month/season names can be really cool.Aygul - MOON ROSE ...also every Ay- name
Colpan - means Venus
Ebru - how many nanes refer to a design technique
Ecrin - great meaning
Esmeray - means "dark moon", reminds me of Esneralda too and so emeralds
Gizem - name of one of my favorite artists, Gizem Vural..look her up pleasee..
Gulnur - rose light!! and every Gul- name is great
Hazan - does sound like an autumn name
Muge - most bc i love the flower

Sevda - considered this for a character, might keep it around for another

Ulku - very adorable sound to me, prob bc im Hungarian and the ü sound is one of my faves about the language (which im otherwise very ambivalent towards)
YesimEvren - way better than Cosmos itself as a nameDemiray - means "iron moon" and im not sure what imagery its intended to bring, but it's very poetic

Hi Perrine !!!I have many Turkish names in my PNL.First of all I agree with Nuray and Ayla. Iove the 'ay' suffix but I don't know the 'mir' part of Miray.I prefer Amina to Emine.
Alya seems too much Aaliyah..too religious vibe. I prefer Firdaus of the same theme but it is Persian.
