When I see the name, I automatically think of the long dead actress Imogen Cocoa --for those of you who don't know, you may remember her as "(Dead on the Car Roof) Aunt Edna" in the 80's classic "National Lampoon's Vacation." To me the name sounds a bit dated. Kind of like trying to bring back the name "Mildred" (my grandmother's name & pretty dreadful). I don't know what country the name Imogen is popular in, but if it works there, and you like the name, go with it. In the U.S. there are little to no Imogen's.

I like the sound of it, but it is getting a bit too popular for my liking. I also like the similar Innogen, but would never use that one, as the poor kid would spend her entire life telling people that "it's IN-o-gen, not IM-o-gen!"

One of my fav girls names

I don't like it. It seems awkward to me, like "imagine" got really mangled.I've never met anyone with the name, so I wouldn't say it's getting too popular.

LOVE it. It's my favourite girl name of the moment. I don't think it's getting too popular, but I guess that depends on where you live.

prefer Imogene, and no it's not"There is none Holy like The Lord, there is none besides Thee; there is no Rock like our God." (1 Samuel 2:2 RSV)

It's not popular at all where I live (US). It's one of my very favourites--it also reminds me of the word "imagine", which is part of why I like it so much.

I think Imogen is a lovely name. I would probably use it as a mn. I don't think it is popular atm, and if it was I probably would still use it.

It's definitely not popular in the U.S., nor do I think it will be anytime soon. It is, however, similar in sound to the incredibly overdone Emma and Emily, so that could be a concern. I adore the name, but some people think it's awkward to say, reminds them of the word "imagine" and it's very British to some (probably part of why I like it so much :b). But none of that really bothers me, I just really like the name Imogen.
