[Opinions] Gabrielle?
What are your thoughts on Gabrielle? Is it too "frilly" as some people have said about many of the other -elle names? What sort of images/associations come to mind with this name?

I love the name. My friend has a daughter named Gabrielle and we call her Gabby. I love it. It is cute and frilly... but isn't that what girls are supposed to be? You wouldn't want to give a boy a girlish name so why give a girl a boyish name? What about Gabrielle Brooke, Gabrielle Grace, Gabrielle Elizabeth?

I don't mind Gabrielle. It's feminine, but I don't really see it as frilly.I prefer it as a mn though because I can't stand the nn options -- Gabby, Gabs, Brielle, Brie -- yuck.

I actually like the frillier Gabriella, but I don't like Gabrielle at all. I picture a Gabriella to be pretty and sweet but I picture a Gabrielle as a spoilt brat. I have no idea where I get these associations from lol.

I picture a little girl with blonde hair who's pretty smart and loves making other people laugh but I think it's just because I know a Gabrielle who's three and she's a real cutie pie. I absolutely love the name, it's a shame dh doesn't.

I absolutely LOVE Gabrielle. I know two, neither go by Gabby (you'll get a lot of comments about that nn here but it's not a 'given' that it will happen) and they are both beautiful, sweet little girls.I picture an adorable little girl with long hair, and a sophisticated adult. I think the name is good on a child or an adult, so it's a winner in my book.Good luck!
