[Opinions] Maxwell
What do you think of Maxwell, for a girl? **Starfish and coffee, maple syrup and jam/Butterscotch clouds, a tangerine, and a side order of ham**

Maxwell is one of my favorites boys' names. I might easily have named a son Maxwell. You leave it alone now.

Don't like it at all

Really awful, sorry. I’d think the parents were out of “The Nanny Diaries.” I don’t like it for boys either, it’s too surnamey and reminds me of the coffee brand.

Ever heard of Maxine? Maxwell is a handsome male name, please don’t ruin it this way.

Not using it. I'm asking about it because it's a celebrity kid name.

It converts Maxwell's Silver Hammer into a very strange story indeed. And, whatever happened to Maxine?

Maxwell's silver hammer got her.

Made sure she was dead.

Absolutely hate it. Its masculine through and through.

I like Maxwell for a girl. I prefer Max for a boy. I don’t like Maxine and absolutely no to Maxie. Reminds me of a feminine napkin. Yecch

I love Maxwell and changing the gender doesn't do much for me. Your can always call her Maxie if you want the name more girly.

Nah, it's definitely masculine. Also, I always think of "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" by the Beatles

I don't see the appeal. I don't see anything feminine about Maxwell.

I don't like it for a boy very much, but I absolutely hate it for a girl. It makes me think of Jessica Simpson, who I think is kind of gross, so that's not a good association either. I do think Maxine is pretty stylish for a girl, and you can get the nickname Max out of it.

Maxwell has always screamed "dog name" to me, I can't make myself like it on a person, regardless of gender. Weirdly I don't feel the same about just Max, and I quite like Maximilian, and I think Maxine is okay. I would like Maxime for a girl but it's a French masculine name, and I don't feel like that's a line I can cross.
