I love just May. I would use it myself.
The actors Emily Mortimer and Alessandro Nivola have a daughter named May, and I remember watching an interview with her where she mentioned her daughter by name and thinking, "I really like that." Just simple and classy.
I like May over Mae, but I like Mae as well.
