I think it's cute and old-fashioned, but I always say fil-EE-pa instead of Philip-a and I don't know if that's a real pronunciation. I think it goes well with lacy, dusty, and floral names. (Rosemary, Annegret, Theodosia, Winifred, Wilhelmina, etc.)

Meh. It just feels dated to me.

Can’t stand it. It must be the ‘lippa’ I can’t stand because I don’t mind Philomena. One of my favourite teachers was called Philippa though, so I have nothing but good associations.

Sounds like a maid in her late twenties who has one cat, two sisters, Angelica and Maria, and a boyfriend named Josh. Bet she's getting hitched soon. On a more serious note, I think it's a nice name. Not the best, not the worst, but leaning towards positive. Phil and Phillip are also good names.

...In my personal opinion, that is.

I love the name enough to use it; I also like Philip for a boy, but not nearly as much.Associations? Two very nice people I've known, plus I like the sound of it.

I don't like Philip/Phil in general, but oddly enough, I love Philippa . It's very fun and quirky.

I do like it a lot. I have a good friend with the name, and she doesn't use a nickname (occasionally, very occasionally she is Phil)My friend worked for the Royal Shakespeare Company for a short time. She said there were FIVE women called Philippa in he office, and she was the only one who didn't go by Pippa or Pip, which I heartily dislike.

I like it but not enough to use. My main associations with it are horses and a girl I know who is very sweet.

I love it! Being the Hamilton fan I am, I automatically think of Phillipa Soo. I prefer the Philippa spelling, though.

I thought of the exact same person! Hamilton has taken over my life, it seems! lol
