Technically in Italian it's unisex, boys and girls.
Other forms Male include : Anders, Andres, Andre, Andreas

But not, you guessed it, ANDREA.

I dislike Andrew for its boring wimpishness, but I dislike Andrea even more. I don't mind Andrea as an Italian male name, but Andrea sounds different and not as good.
