[Facts] Name update #110
New names have been added! For details of the changes you can see these links:https://www.behindthename.com/update/110 (given names)
https://surnames.behindthename.com/update/110 (surnames)
https://places.behindthename.com/update/110 (place names)This update includes...
- names written in the proper case, instead of ALL CAPS
- Japanese Hiragana (and sometimes Katakana) spellings
- more names from literature and pop culture (e.g. Cthulhu and Pikachu)Most of the names removed are names spelled with a Turkish/Azeri İ or ı. These have been merged into the regular I/i forms, now that case is shown properly.

I'm quite late but why was the surname De Haven deleted? It shows up in the popularity list

Most of the deleted names are Turkish or Azerbaijani names spelled (in CAPS) with İ. Since I am no longer displaying names in all capitals, these names could be safely merged into names spelled with an i. For example, AZİZ was merged into Aziz. (However, İRFAN stays as İrfan because the İ is naturally capitalized at the beginning of the name.)Franco(2), Hagen(2), Rico(2) and Sam(3) were each merged with their (1) entries to get Franco, Hagen, Rico and Sam(1).Wibawa and Wibowo were moved to the surname database.Jiemba was removed after discussion on this board. There are some users of this name but it's very rare. It could go into the submitted DB if someone wants to add it.
JIEMBA - Possibly from the Pallanganmiddang word djimba meaning "star". Some sources claim it means "laughing star" in Wiradjuri. {note:"https://www.behindthename.com/bb2/fact/5225784"}

May I ask why Wibawa and Wibowo were moved to the surname site?

They seemed to be much more common as surnames so I moved them over. I potentially should have left a copy in the first name database too, but honestly I think I forgot to follow up on that.

Just to add: the case for the user-submitted names will be changed as well, probably tomorrow.
