I love it. I once knew a lovely lady called Katrina who ran voluntary charity shop near me so I have only positive associations with the name.

This is actually one of my favorite names. For some weird reason, I love the sound, and the only thing that would stop me from naming a child this is the hurricane association.

Hurricane. I prefer Catherine, Katherine, Caterina or literally any other variant of the name, the “tr” sound in the middle is unattractive.

It’s okay. No strong feelings. Better than Karen at least.

I find it pretty. I do prefer Katerina though

As others have said, I do associate this with the hurricane that wrecked New Orleans. That said, I am in the United States and have a lot of family in New Orleans, so the association might be a little stronger because of that, as well. I knew a Katrina once and thought she was whip smart, athletic, funny, and kind, everything one would hope for in a daughter/friend. So, there's a good association.I also agree with others that Katrin and Catriona are lovely related alternatives.

It's one of my favorites. I hope it makes a comeback.

I like it. It's more common than a lot of people think - at least, it is here in the Chicago area (I've met several Katrinas / Catrinas in my life). Back in high school I used to worry that the name would become synonymous with the notorious hurricane, but that doesn't seem to be as detrimental as I predicted. That said, I do prefer Katarina.

I like it a lot. It's not in style now, of course, but it always feels very youthful and bright. My mother always had one doll named Katrina when she was a kid and I think everyone assumed she'd name me Katrina, but she says it never occurred to her. Which is a shame; I would have liked to be named it. Of course when the hurricane was laying waste to New Orleans I would probably have gotten tired of the jokes about how big and deadly I was, but it's not like it was a name nobody'd ever heard of till the storm.

Nice

I like it, it's very nice and strong. The hurricane....strong, but not nice in the slightest

Not gonna lie. I hate it. I'm not sure if I had a bad association at one point or what. I like Catriona (especially nn 'Riona'). I also like Catrin/Katrin, but Katrina doesn't do it for me.

Nice. Prefer Catriona, but Katrina is more practical I suppose. Valuable as a little-used form of Katharine etc.

I like it, 6/10. Katrin is a little bit better 7/10

All I associate Katrina with is the hurricane, and I'm not even American. There are plenty of other Katherine variants to choose from, e.g. Katarina.
