It's pretty cool. I like it. It's kind of fascinating how close it is to Amir, if it's really a traditional Welsh name - since they mean basically the same thing. I guess I'm a little tired of seeing Em-names. It reminds me of Emrys, too.

I don’t hate it, but it does sound a bit like a cross between “emu” and “lemur”. It definitely has a contemporary feel with the Em- sound at the beginning and the y in there. I could see it catching on.

It makes me think of the United Arab Emirates with Emir and Emyr both meaning “king”/“ruler”. That’s neither good nor bad from my perspective, it’s just a thing.

Emerance kinda reminds me of a virtue name...lol. But that’s not a bad thing. The name itself I feel neutral on, but I dig Emyr because of the meaning and the spelling is kind of appealing to me.
